Where VSF leads

VSF is the reference factory for most steel Rolex models today: Submariner, GMT-Master II, Datejust and Daytona. Its VS3235 and VS4131 movements are clones of the current genuine calibres, so the hand stack, date change and (on the Daytona) chronograph behave like the real watch. As a first-tier VSF dealer we receive new batches directly from the factory.

Serial codes change by batch

VSF rotates the serial code engraved on each reference with every production run. A watch checked against an old list can look wrong when it is not — and a copied code can look right when it is not. Model, size and bracelet must all line up with the code.

Codes can repeat across references — F6U appears on the Datejust 36mm and the GMT Jubilee. That is normal as long as the model and bracelet match.

How to check the engraving

1. Find the engraving. Inner clasp, case flank between the lugs, or rehaut depending on the series. Use a macro lens — 8/B and 0/O are easy to confuse.
2. Match model and bracelet. A Datejust 41 Jubilee code on a Submariner is an immediate red flag.
3. Check against the current batch. A missing code is not automatically fake, but ask for more evidence.
4. Rule out swapped parts. A correct code proves the case and bracelet only. Movement finishing should match the factory too.

Beyond the serial number

• Dial: font weight, cyclops magnification and AR tint, even lume.
• Movement: on the VS4131 Daytona, shock-absorber shape and bridge finishing are the hardest details to copy.
• Bracelet: brushed/polished transitions on the clasp and a firm, damped folding action.
