Super clone vs genuine - my honest take after 2 years

I've owned both genuine and super clone watches for 2 years now. Here's my honest take. The genuine wins on: resale value, brand prestige, movement finishing, long-term durability. The super clone wins on: price, variety, peace of mind (I don't worry about scratching it), and the ability to enjoy multiple references. For daily wear, I reach for my super clones more often. They're comfortable, they look great, and I don't stress about them. For special occasions or long-term investment, I wear my genuine pieces. Both have their place. It depends on what you value.

How is the lume holding up after a few months? That is usually the first thing to degrade on replicas.

Great write-up. I have the same model and everything you said about the finishing is spot on.

The GMT hand jumping independently is the killer feature. I use it every time I fly.

I dive with mine every weekend. The bezel action is still crisp after 6 months of salt water.

The key is the movement. Ask for a timegrapher reading before you buy.

I was skeptical about super clones for years. Posts like this finally convinced me to try one. Ordered last week.

I usually only buy vintage, but you make a compelling case. The value equation is hard to argue with.

Fellow engineer here. I did the same spreadsheet analysis. TIME'MAX won on transparency every time.

That dial color is perfect. Photos never do these justice.

The value proposition is insane. I spent $500 instead of $15,000. Zero regrets.
